The Land Gardens of Claude Monet - Claude Monet was one of the foremost Impressionist painters. Many people do not know that he was also a world renowned horticulturist. The gardens, Clos Normand, enclosed within the walls surrounding his house, will be shown using many photographic examples. We will visually take a walk through the gardens to discuss his beautiful flowers, garden designs, painting inspirations, and horticultural ideas.

The Water Garden of Claude Monet - Did you know that Claude Monet was also a world renowned horticulturist? An extensive water garden was installed across the railroad tracks from his house and land gardens.
The development of the large pond, the installation of many bridges, and his choices for trees and flowers will be discussed with many photographic examples. The overall design for the water
garden is a very different approach than used in the Clos Norman and was influenced by Japanese art.

About our instructor . . . Celia Knapp graduated from Edinboro College, PA. After receiving her degree in art education, she took art classes at the Cleveland Institute of Art. She taught art in the elementary schools of Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Los Angeles, and Madrid, Spain -- as well as private classes for adults. Her paintings have been shown at exhibits throughout Chautauqua and Warren Counties.

Family Tree Maker 2012 - You have your family tree traced and you are ready to organize it. Now what do you do? You put it on the computer to preserve your research and family history for generations to come. In this class, you will take a “walk through time” utilizing Family Tree Maker software. Not only will it allow you to organize all of your research, you will be able to incorporate newspaper clippings, pictures, and gather ideas about how to save this work for posterity. Additionally, you will discuss proper backup procedures so that future generations can enjoy your work as well as become more proficient at transferring or sharing information from Family Tree Maker User to Users.
