CRN: 3530 The Art of Lettering
10-hours; Monday/Wednesday, August 11-25 at Hi-Ed from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Cost: $85
Instructor: Lisa Gustafson
This course is designed to teach techniques needed to write beautiful calligraphy. Several lettering styles will be taught. Calligraphy is an excellent skill for projects such as invitations, cards, favorite poems, and boarder designs. Students will take home a beautiful finished project to be proud of. Each student will receive their own materials to keep, included in cost. Must bring materials to each class. Maximum 12 students.

This class will assist beginners in the use of Autodesk Inventor 8 software. Autodesk is focused on helping designers, architects, contractors and engineers create accurate digital prototypes that integrate existing 2D designs into the 3D design environment. Maximum 9 students.

Instructor: Lise Larson
Join our native speaking instructor as she takes students through the basics of one of the world’s most romantic languages. Students will learn how to: order from a restaurant menu; read a map and ask for directions; understand the metric system and French currency; use a telephone; make reservations on planes, trains and automobiles; find restrooms, shopping malls and hospitals; define medical emergencies; read a newspaper; and more. A brief history of the language, cultural differences, taxes, marriage, employment and universal health care will also be discussed along with French cuisine, local beverages and more. If there is enough interest, the last class may meet at La Fleur restaurant in Chautauqua, N.Y. to utilize some of the skills learned in the class. This experience is not included in the cost of the class.

Emotional Systems is a different way of thinking than we are used to. Systems training focuses on the “strengths” of individuals and/or organizations rather than “problems”.
