Tell Ten Things About Yourself, Escape Handcuffs and Shackles, Try to balance 15 Nails On A Head Of A Nail, Minefield (Try to get through the “minefield” without getting blown up), To Be Or Knot To Be ( Figure out what rope is tied to all the other ropes), Radioactive (Isolate radioactive isotopes by using ropes and bungee cords), Ring Game (Move all the rings from one peg to the next without putting a big ring on a small one), Lego Towers (Try to build the tallest tower while blindfolded), Team Skiing (Two people try to “ski” on 2X4’s together), All Aboard (Your stuck on a melting iceberg and you have to decide how you and your teammates can escape without falling in), Human Knot (You’re tied into a knot with your team and you have to figure out how to untie yourselves), Kim’s Game (There are a collection of items in a bag and you have one minute to look at all of the items before they go back in the bag and then you have to try and remember what you saw)

Two-Day Watercolor Workout

From life-like blooms to lush landscapes, you will soon have the opportunity to put paintbrush to canvas and create your own masterpieces. You will work with photographs, focusing on realism. 

 Supplies that you need to bring:

Paper- Good quality cold press watercolor paper, around 15″ x 22″ and 140 lb or 300 lb;  either a block or a loose sheet that has been secured to the backing board.  Arches, Stonehenge or Fabriano are good papers.

Brushes-  #10, #12 round brushes, ¾” or 1” soft flat watercolor brush.  Some form of liner (#0).  You may have other brushes but these are versatile ones to use.

Palettes– Large watercolor palette.  If you have paint already in the palette, clean out some spots to add new paint selections or bring a second palette.  Plein air palettes (travel palettes), do not have enough room in the mixing area.  Karen will be bringing tubes of paint to help in the testing of new pigments.  Bring what you have but be prepared to try new pigments.

Roll of paper towels and box of tissues.

Pencils, kneaded eraser and a couple of sheets of sketch paper for the preliminary sketch.

 Acrylic Painting for Beginners

This course is designed for anyone, with any skill level, to relax while painting a beautiful fall scene. We will be using acrylic paint and provide choice in portrait tutorial. Participants should bring a set of at least 3 brushes with varying sizes including a small medium and large brush.

Join the Mercyhurst North East Occupational Therapy Assistant   students to learn about preventing falls in your home and community.
