Dementia Conversations

reinforces the need to plan ahead and build a

with helpful resources to enhance quality

of life for everyone involved.

The Joy of Painting: Fall Landscapes

Pete attended Bob Ross schools in FL, OH,

and VA.  He became an instructor of Bob

Ross painting,certified in landscapes,

seascapes, and wild life painting. 

In this class, you will do a complete

16×20 landscape or seascape painting in

about 3 hours.  You will learn to paint

mountains, lakes, rivers, waterfalls,

different types of clouds, trees, cabins,

waves, and even covered bridges! All you

bring to the class is the desire to learn.

The class on September 27 is full!


Two-Day Watercolor Workout

Thursday & Friday, October 12 & 13

From life-like blooms to lush landscapes,

you will soon have the opportunity to

put paintbrush to canvas and create your

own masterpieces. You will work with 

photographs, focusing on realism. 

 Supplies that you need to bring:

Paper- Good quality cold press watercolor paper, around 15″ x 22″ and 140 lb or 300 lb;  either a block or a loose sheet that has been secured to the backing board.  Arches, Stonehenge or Fabriano are good papers.

Brushes-  #10, #12 round brushes, ¾” or 1” soft flat watercolor brush.  Some form of liner (#0).  You may have other brushes but these are versatile ones to use.

Palettes– Large watercolor palette.  If you have paint already in the palette, clean out some spots to add new paint selections or bring a second palette.  Plein air palettes (travel palettes), do not have enough room in the mixing area.  Karen will be bringing tubes of paint to help in the testing of new pigments.  Bring what you have but be prepared to try new pigments.

Two water containers for wetting brush and for cleaning brush

A water spray bottle and masking liquid

Roll of paper towels and box of tissues.

Pencils, kneaded eraser and a couple of sheets of sketch paper for the preliminary sketch.
