JOB DESCRIPTION:  Business Manager

Reports to: Executive Director

Hours: Full-Time

Position Summary:

The Warren-Forest Higher Education Council is seeking a dynamic, organized, and community-focused Business Manager to support daily operations, marketing, and community engagement. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is passionate about expanding community access to education.

 

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Administrative Support

  • Manage daily bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, invoicing, and account reconciliations.

  • Assist with preparing financial reports and monitoring budget expenditures.

  • Maintain accurate financial and administrative records in compliance with organizational and grant requirements.

 

Program Coordination

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of Hi-Ed’s educational programs and events.

  • Serve as a liaison for instructors, students, and community partners.

  • Assist with scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation for credit and non-credit courses

 

Marketing & Communications

  • Contribute to marketing strategies that promote Hi-Ed programs and initiatives.

  • Assist in creating content for digital and print materials, including newsletters and social media.

  • Help ensure consistent organizational branding and messaging across platforms.

  • Help maintain strong relationships with educational, workforce, and community partners.

  • Represent Hi-Ed at local events, meetings, and community initiatives.

 

Qualifications 

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, education, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, ideally in a community-based or nonprofit setting.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and basic website management.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask, manage priorities, and work independently.

  • Familiarity with educational programming or regional community development is a plus.

  • A passion for community education and lifelong learning.

 

Work Environment & Schedule 

  • Position is based in the Warren PA office, with occasional travel throughout Warren and Forest Counties.

  • Some evenings or weekends may be required for events or partner meetings.
