JOB DESCRIPTION: Business Manager
Reports to: Executive Director
Hours: Full-Time

Position Summary:
The Warren-Forest Higher Education Council is seeking a dynamic, organized, and community-focused Business Manager to support daily operations, marketing, and community engagement. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is passionate about expanding community access to education.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Administrative Support

Manage daily bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, invoicing, and account reconciliations.

Assist with preparing financial reports and monitoring budget expenditures.

Maintain accurate financial and administrative records in compliance with organizational and grant requirements.
Program Coordination

Support the planning, coordination, and execution of Hi-Ed’s educational programs and events.

Serve as a liaison for instructors, students, and community partners.

Assist with scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation for credit and non-credit courses
Marketing & Communications

Contribute to marketing strategies that promote Hi-Ed programs and initiatives.

Assist in creating content for digital and print materials, including newsletters and social media.

Help ensure consistent organizational branding and messaging across platforms.

Help maintain strong relationships with educational, workforce, and community partners.

Represent Hi-Ed at local events, meetings, and community initiatives.
Qualifications

Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, education, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, ideally in a community-based or nonprofit setting.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and basic website management.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to multitask, manage priorities, and work independently.

Familiarity with educational programming or regional community development is a plus.

A passion for community education and lifelong learning.
Work Environment & Schedule
-
Position is based in the Warren PA office, with occasional travel throughout Warren and Forest Counties.

Some evenings or weekends may be required for events or partner meetings.
